چکیده

Heating adenovirus types 8 and 12 for 2 to 3 min. at 560 simultaneously reduced both interferon-inducting capacity and infectivity. In contrast, virus inactivated by u.v.-irradiation effectively stimulated interferon production in chick cells. Chick cells infected with adenovirus type 12 and incubated at 25 °, 35 ° or 4 °o produced about the same amount of interferon but the kinetics of interferon production differed, i.e. at the higher temperatures interferon formation commenced earlier. The possibility that the penton antigen may be responsible for interferon induction by human adenoviruses in chick cells is discussed.

Sperm fertilization capacity of Caspian salmon, Salmo trutta caspius under ultraviolet irradiation

The optimum dose of ultraviolet (UV) irradiation to produce gynogenetic Caspian salmon, Salmo trutta caspius, with emphasis on the "Hertwig effect" and photoreactivation (PR) were investigated. The sperm of Caspian salmon was irradiated with UV at 2010 ? 200 ?w.cm-2 in different times including 0, 1, 3, 5, 8, 10, 15, 20, 25, 35 and 45 min and was allowed to fertilize normal ova; the fertilizati...

Relationship between the ribonucleic acid synthesizing capacity of ultraviolet-irradiated Newcastle disease virus and its ability to induce interferon.

Ultraviolet (UV)-irradiated Newcastle disease virus which has lost its infectivity but has the capacity to induce interferon also has the capacity to induce ribonucleic acid (RNA) synthesis both in vitro and early in infection in vivo. With large doses of UV irradiation, RNA-synthesizing capacity and interferon-inducing capacity are lost in parallel. Limited amounts of base-paired RNA associate...

Influence of E1-Deleted Recombinant Adenoviruses on B7.1 and IL-2 Expression in C1498 Cells

Knowing that adenoviral vectors could initiate innate immunity, the ability of E1-deleted recombinant adenovirus (Ad-E1Δ) in induction of B7.1 and IL-2 molecules was studied. Methods: The expression of green fluorescent protein in C1498 cells following transfection of these cells with adenovirus green fluorescent protein vector confirmed the ability of adenovirus vectors in infecting the cells ...

Interferon-like substance produced in chick fibroblast cells inoculated with human adenoviruses.

Production of an interferon-like substance was demonstrated in primary chick embryo cells inoculated with human adenoviruses. In this rescept various examined types behaved similarly. Treatment of the virus with homologous immune serum, heat or trypsin resulted in the loss of its inducing capacity. The presence of mycoplasma had no influence on the induction of the interferonlike substance due ...

Zinc oxide coating by ultrasonic waves and investigation of the effect of heating on it

In this paper, the coating on glass slides by ultrasonic irradiation in the aqueous ZnO solution is discussed. We investigate the effect of irradiation location on the amount coating, and the role of heat on the coated slide. The structure and morphology of the thin film were obtained by using atomic force microscopy (AFM) and field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM). The results sho...
